Outre l'annonce, que je n'avais vraiment pas vu venir (ou, du moins, pas aussi vite), je suis vraiment surpris de voir autant de retours : Dwayne Johnson qui revient carrément dans le rôle de Maui et en tant que producteur, Auli'i Cravalho également désormais productrice, et Jared Bush qui était déjà le scénariste du film d'animation revient aussi écrire cette nouvelle version. C'est du jamais vu d'avoir autant de liens entre un film d'animation et un live action, on n'est plus simplement sur des caméos.
