For summer 2014, immersive outdoor entertainment will bring Downtown Disney to life, with nine different acts scheduled nightly – more than 30 live performances daily, a free highlight of the Downtown Disney experience.

And special events like Car Masters Weekend (June 14-15) puts the spotlight on classic and exotic cars for Father’s Day weekend, and includes character experiences featuring favorite Disney*Pixar “Cars” characters.

New this summer for Downtown Disney:

• Two new Starbucks locations, a storefront at Downtown Disney West Side and a kiosk near World of Disney at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

• Marketplace Co-Op will serve as a testing space for new Disney retail concepts, shops and products with six boutiques under one roof: Beautifully Disney, Cherry Tree Lane, D-Tech on Demand, The Trophy Room, Disney Centerpiece and Zoey and Pickles.

• Just in time for World Cup, United World of Soccer opens in Late May at Downtown Disney West Side. The shop offers favorite team jerseys, sports gear, cleats, World Cup apparel and accessories.

• The Happy Hound at Downtown Disney Marketplace offers custom accessories and dog tags, toys and more for four-legged friends.

• Food Truck Park, opening later this summer, will serve as a permanent home to the four Disney Food Trucks and will be situated between Bongos Cuban Café and the new Starbucks at Downtown Disney West Side.

What’s Next ?

• The Landing (opening in early 2015) set along the waterfront and featuring nationally known restaurateurs.

• The family-friendly Marketplace will continue to delight guests of all ages by combining new experiences, such as an over-the-water pedestrian causeway, along with classic Disney favorites, including an expanded World of Disney store.

• West Side will be enhanced with a series of new elevated spaces that provide both shade and an overlook to the activity below.

• The Town Center, opening in 2016, with a sophisticated mix of shopping and more dining.

A noter aussi que DTD changera officiellement de nom avec l'ouverture du Landing debut 2015. A partir de ce moment là, DTD deviendra officiellement DS (Disney Springs).

J'aime pas vraiment le nouveau starbucks, je le trouve vraiment froid comme bâtiment, après faut voir sur place mais bon je préfère le notre

Dans la boutique beautifully peut faire maquiller les ados comme les enfants a la bobbidi boutique? Ce serait super pour mes filles

Je reviens tout juste de Walt Disney World et il n'y a absolument rien d'extraordinaire à Marketplace Co-op...une grosse déception de ce côté...

Sans parler des panneaux cachant les rénovations, on a vraiment l'impression d'être étouffé et encadré...

Un petit assortiment du merchandising de la boutique WonderGround Gallery du Downtown Disney District de Disneyland Resort est depuis peu disponible à Walt Disney World Resort.

Un espace WonderGround Gallery a en effet été développé dans la boutique Marketplace Co-Op de Downtown Disney Area.

All in the Details: Imagineers Unveil the Storyline of Disney Springs

How does Walt Disney Imagineering re-imagine an area of Walt Disney World Resort that guests have enjoyed for more than 40 years?


That’s the creative challenge our Imagineering team, including Executive Creative Director Theron Skees, has been tasked with – to transform the area currently known as Downtown Disney into Disney Springs, a destination that’s being expanded to include more than 150 shopping, dining and entertainment experiences. From an Imagineering perspective, this means developing a storyline and creating a sense of time and place that influences everything from the architecture to the costumes.

We were also excited to share that our Imagineers will continue to share updates here in our “All in the Details” series in the coming months as their work progresses. Here’s the first piece, in which Theron introduces the Disney Springs project and Imagineering’s role in it.

The first “neighborhood” in Disney Springs – the opening of The Landing – is set for 2015. Construction on Disney Springs will continue into 2016, so be sure to stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more behind-the-scenes looks at the progress happening as Downtown Disney transforms into Disney Springs.

Je suis d'accord, ce n'est pas très sympa pour se promener. La semaine dernière nous ne sommes pas restés longtemps à cause de toutes ses palissades, on ne voit rien et cela gene pour le déplacement de la foule. A ne pas refaire un vendredi soir!!! Et j'ai pas trouvé ce que je cherchais. Tant pis....

Ca ne doit pas être l'idéal pour se promener, c'est vrai, mais quel bonheur cela doit être pour un fan de Disney de se retrouver là pour la première fois.

ouep, un vendredi soir c'est deja blindé, mais un vendredi soir d'été avec les travaux, c'est un truc de malade (et surtout ne pas tenter d'y aller en bagnole)
