- But where will the Annual Pass processing take place? At the regular ticket booths, of course. Disney has streamlined the whole pass processing system and removed pictures from the passes. Passes will now be purchased at the regular ticket booths and guests can use photopass or their own picture and upload a photo to their passholder account from home. (While the photo is no longer on the pass, it still shows up on the screens at the entry turnstiles.)

| Les travaux ont commencé! On August 16, three days before the D23 Expo kicked off, Disney made an unexpected announcement on its official Disney Parks Blog for some Main Street, U.S.A. dining and shopping locations. Starting the next day on August 17, construction would begin in the Plaza Pavilion, converting the space into a new Mary Poppins-themed bakery-cafe. Rumors of the new location, named the Jolly Holiday Bakery Café, has been making the rounds in the Disney fan community for some time now, but it took the closing of the Annual Passholder Center to finally get Disney to make the formal announcement. The new bakery is set to open in January 2012. It will be fantastic to once again have an operating dining location in the space after years of being closed or used as a simple Annual Passport Center. With the Plaza Pavilion being used for foodservice again, maybe it's also time for Disney to dust off the unused Aladdin's Oasis and bring back the Tahitian Terrace? Signage on the construction walls announce the new dining location
The announcement also came with news of some notable changes at other Main Street dining locations. With a new bakery under construction, the current Blue Ribbon Bakery would no longer be needed once the the Jolly Holiday location opens in January. The removal of the Blue Ribbon will allow the Carnation Café to expand and offer an indoor dining space. This change is actually a return to how the location operated for decades before the Blue Ribbon Bakery moved in and made it an outdoor-only restaurant.
Bye-bye Blue Ribbon! The current Blue Ribbon Bakery interior: As the Disney Parks Blog noted, the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and Candy Palace will also get some work done. The ice cream parlor interior will be redesigned, hopefully fixing its frustrating crowd-flow problems. At peak times, the current parlor configuration often sees overflow ice cream queue stretching into the Blue Ribbon Bakery. With the Bakery becoming sit-down dining space, the current parlor's queue issues will need a fix. Also on the list of upgrades is the display candy kitchen at the popular Candy Palace shop. The on-stage kitchen is set to be expanded, and it'll be interesting to see how Disney manages to do this. The Candy Palace entryway is cramped as it is. Expanding the display kitchen suggests it will take over space currently used as a cash wrap, which can see significant lines when the park is busy.
The Disney Parks Blog didn't mention any changes at the Penny Arcade which is located between the Gibson Girl and Candy Palace. The Penny Arcade has already suffered from reduced floor space over the years as a large fudge and candy apple counter moved in, and a self-serve jelly bean display was installed. The Penny Arcade has significantly fewer vintage arcade machines than it did in its earlier years, and we hope that the Gibson Girl and Candy Palace reconfigurations don't compromise the space even more.
While it's important to address the operational needs of the incredibly popular ice cream parlor and candy shops, it's also important to maintain the Main Street show, which is supported by the individual identities of the shops, including the Penny Arcade with its vintage arcade offerings. http://micechat.com/blogs/dateline-disneyland/3077-main-streets-jolly-holiday-buena-vista-street-storytellers-fantasy-faire-more.htmlC'est à jamais |

| Okay, here is the game plan. Carnation Cafe is expanding into what is currently the Blue Ribbon Bakery. Because of that, the Blue Ribbon Bakery will be closing just before Halloween time. Due to this change, the wildly popular Ice Cream Parlor will be rearranged to accommodate their ever-long queue. And, since they are doing that, Candy Palace will be receiving some re-jiggering as well with an expanded kitchen and counter space. That leads us to Coke Corner which will likely be untouched. But where does that leave us if we want to grab a coffee AND a pastry? A new Mary Poppins themed, Jolly Holiday Bakery, will open in what was once the Plaza Pavilion. Which, of course means that annual pass processing had to be kicked out of that location. Passes are now processed at the ticket booths. Got all that? Okay. Let's see where things are. Set to begin expansion at the beginning of September. Construction walls have popped up inside the ice Cream parlors back dining area. Penny Arcade's candy counter has been emptied. Inside the penny arcade, more construction walls can be found. Now onto the Candy Palace. The walkway leading into the Penny Arcade is closed up. The little booth where they make the candy will soon be expanded. http://micechat.com/blogs/in-the-parks/3080-parks-knotts-opens-windseeker-disneyland-dca-universal-update.htmlC'est à jamais |

| Ouverture de Jolly Holiday Bakery Café le 04 ou 05 janvier 2012. Mary makes the sun shine bright... Then on January 4th or 5th the new Jolly Holiday Bakery will finally open. The interior maintains a similar layout to that this location has had since the early 1960’s, but the décor is quite expertly redone with lavish materials and finishes, as is par for the course with most WDI projects nowadays in Anaheim. She'll stay until the wind changes. The nods to Mary Poppins are subtle but certainly noticeable, like the inlaid mosaic tiles at the head of the queue that looks like a sidewalk chalk drawing Bert may have done recreating the famous tea party scene from the movie. The bakery is purposely furnished with Edwardian era décor and design from 1901 to 1910, with antique gas stoves behind the serving line and early electric chandeliers and fixtures in the ceiling. There’s seemingly an acre of honey-blonde carved wood cabinetry, furniture and paneling, as was the emerging style in the Edwardian era of the early 1900’s.WDI wanted to take the bakery’s story just a few years further than the slightly earlier and darker Victorian era décor of the Main Street USA story, not only to play to the correct Mary Poppins timeframe but also to help the bakery blend the Main Street USA environment into the amorphous Central Plaza’s mish mash of themes and exotic locales.http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al122011a.htmC'est à jamais |

| Refreshment Corner a réouvert et des bâches thématisées ont été installées sur le chantier d'agrandissement de Carnation Café. CARNATION CAFE: They have now installed a canvas with an image of the Carnation building, to hide construction. This is a nice touch borrowed from the Magic Kingdom in Florida.
REFRESHMENT CORNER: Refreshment Corner is the first to return among the buildings in Main Street's north-western quadrant.
