Future World - Placemaking [EPCOT - 2023]

Person je trouve pas. Bon, on voit le lien entre The Land et The Seas, mais quel est le lien entre Spaship Earth et le pavillon de l'imagination, qui sont dans la même zone ? Sans parler du fait qu'une fois de plus isl laissent le pavillon de l'imagination à l'abandon alors que c'est celui qui a le plus besoin d'une rénovation (et que Inside Out est la source d'inspiration idéale).
A la place, ils rouvrent le pavillon de la vie pour en faire un Play Pavillon dont je ne suis pas convaincu du succès....

Quelqu’un avait dit ici que même avec l’extension WDS restera éternel dernier. Et j’avais cité Epcot dans la liste des concurrents. Force est de constater qu’il va y avoir de l’investissement chez Epcot.
Pour le pavillon de l’imagination, je pense que c’est comme pour Coco et le pavillon du brésil (et l’ajout de nouvelles scènes pour spaceship earth) tout n’a pas encore été annoncé sur Epcot. Mais déjà entre Mary Poppins, Ratatouille, Gotg, Moana, Play truc, l’espèce d’île avec les jardins sur le toit, le restaurant spatial, ca fait pas mal de choses à découvrir pour une prochaine visite par rapport à la précédente.
Je m’inquiétais de la cohérence mais je vois que la nouvelle signalétique avec les symboles et le nouveau découpage remettent les pavillons au goût du jour. La partie nature est intéressante par rapport au futur de l’homme avec son environnement.

@Freddy : pour moi spaceship earth et play pavillon (world celebration) ne sont pas dans la même zone que la partie nature qui elle contient le parcours interactif aquatique, le land, le pavillon de l’eau, le nouveau pavillon de jardins supendus et imagination (world nature). Je pense qu’ils en tiendront compte quand il sera réimaginé.

Je ne parlais pas du play pavillon (dont je trouve perso le concept naze, mais ça n'engage que moi), mais du pavillon de l'imagination qui se trouve bien dans la zone Celebration au même titre que Spaceship Earth. J'avoue que je vois pas le lien entre les deux...

Mais bon, je ne critique pas l'ambition globale du plan. Ils vont avoir un paquet de nouveautés qui ont de quoi nous rendre envieux. C'est vraiment impressionnant tout ce qu'il y a, mais ça reste étonnant qu'on n'ait pas de nouvelle du pavillon de l'imagination qui est vraiment désert côté fréquentation même en été.Se dire que le ride Journey into you imagination est désormais là depuis aussi longtemps que son prédécesseur, qui était lui une pur merveille, fait un peu mal au coeur.
Pour le reste, question cohérence, je pense qu'il n'y en a vraiment plus (à part la zone nature). Mais on s'en doutait un peu depuis des années. Et finalement, c'est peut-être pas plus mal car le côté éducatif, on sait que c'est vite dépassé et que de toute façon, on n'apprend pas grand-chiose au final (pour moi, le ride le plus abouti dans l'esprit "expo universelle" était celui de l'énergie, même s'il avait besoin d'être remis à jour)

Dans la salle où est exposée la fameuse maquette de la D23, il y a des projections mapping sur les éléments de la maquette qui la colore à certain moment. Cela donne une bonne idée de ce que donnera cette même technologie dans le ride Mickey and Minnie Runaway Railway.

La réhabilitation de Spaceship Earth est officiellement reportée, de même pour l'attraction Mary Poppins dans le World Showcase. Ces deux projets ont même été retirés de EPCOT Experience.

Dommage. Mais EPCOT va recevoir pas mal de nouveauté entre temps.

Certes... Mais le gros projet World Celebration, avec le Festival Pavillion sur 3 niveaux, va aussi être revu à la baisse.

Bon en fait ce n'est peut-être pas forcément une revue à la baisse du projet, mais en tout cas il sera modifié.

cela dit, j'avoue perso que la destruction de la moitié d'innovention pour le remplacer notamment par les jardins aquatiques de Maona, c'est du gaspillage de fric (même si là, ils ne pouvent plus faire marche arrière, vu que la moitié du bâtiment est déjà détruit) Ils auraient mieux fait d'upgrader les animations qui y avaient lieu
De même, j'ai un peu de mal à comprendre le concept du Play pavillon qui n'est pas sans rappeler justement... Innovention. Là aussi, j'ai l'impression que ce sera du gros claquage de fric pour un truc qui n'intéressera pas les guests ou sera obsolète rapidement et nécessitera des remises à jour fréquentes et coûteuse.
Perso, j'aurais préféré qu'ils gardent le pavillon de l'énergie (en l'upgradant) et qu'ils utilisent l'ancien pavillon de la santé comme pre-show et zone d'embarquement des gardiens de la galaxie.
Et puis surtout, rethématiser sur le thème de Vice-versa le pavillon de l'imagination, qui reste désespérément vide, était une telle évidence, c'est incompréhensible que ça n'ait pas été fait, plutôt que de claquer du fric sur des projets comme Maona qui en rien n'augmenteront réellement l'attrait du parc; On aura créé un endroit certes plus convivial, mais avec juste à côté un pavillon de l'imagination laissé à l'abandon alors qu'il y avait tant à y faire (et y repensant, il aurait pu accueillir le play pavillon d'ailleurs).
Et en dehors de ça, la vraie urgence est de relancer world Showcase. Heureusement, il y a déjà Frozen et bientôt Ratatouille, mais c'est dommage si Mary Pappins est jeté aux oubliettes, car WS manque vraiment d'attractions. Et enfin un nouveau pays n'aurait pas été un luxe non plus.
Et puis, quand est-ce qu'ils vont changer le film sur la France qui date de 40 ans !!!!

First Look: New Entrance Fountain Celebrates the Past, Present and Future of EPCOT

The past, present and future of EPCOT are all coming together today in one special moment at the front of the park. Anyone visiting as of this morning will see in real life what we at Walt Disney Imagineering have been dreaming up in our heads for many years now.

Overnight, our crews removed all the “progress walls” from the main entrance plaza, giving you the first full look at this next major milestone in the park’s historic transformation. While there is still more work to be done here in the future, the area is much more open and welcoming now. It features new planters, pathways, lush landscaping and a vibrant new color palette that will eventually tie into the four new neighborhoods we’re creating inside the park – World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase.

And there in front of iconic Spaceship Earth you’ll now see a reimagined fountain, standing in the footprint of the original that welcomed guests on the park’s opening day in 1982. Our design team took special interest in this water feature, as we looked back to the geometry of the original for inspiration while creating some new magic of our own. In the fountain’s center is a brilliant light, a unique liquid-cooled fixture we’ve designed with new capabilities that complement the fountain’s changing colors and will coordinate with new lighting coming to Spaceship Earth and the upcoming World Celebration beyond.

Three acrylic pylons, each standing over 16 feet tall and featuring the park’s logo, surround the fountain and hearken back to the creation of EPCOT. Their timeless design and vertical presence draw your eye upward toward the sky – perfectly framing views of Spaceship Earth.

This new fountain is the centerpiece of EPCOT’s entrance plaza, which we’ve designed as a welcoming area that brings people together. The greenery and use of water celebrate a harmony between humanity and the natural world. This park was built to inspire optimism, and we’re infusing this transformation with the magic of possibility.

Today we took a big step toward that goal, and I’m so proud to be part of the team at Walt Disney Imagineering bringing this dream to life.

L'attraction Leave a Legacy est de retour à son nouvel emplacement à l'entrée du parc mais côté extérieur :

Today, I’m so happy to tell you all that Leave A Legacy is returning to EPCOT! I’ve always been a super-fan of it, not just because I had a photo in it but because of the memories behind that photo. There’s quite a story here, and I’ll explain if you’ll indulge me for a moment.

Turning back the clock to 2000, I participated in a trivia contest for Walt Disney World cast members in honor of the new millennium. I’ve always had a knack for trivia and was quite happy to land a second-place score. As runner-up (after several tie-breaking questions, no less), the winner of the contest invited me to join him in commemorating our wins with a day at EPCOT the following week where he would redeem his first place prize – a picture in the Leave A Legacy display! He wanted me to be in it with him because it was such a great memory and, he figured, the start of a good friendship with a fellow trivia lover.

Well, that day at EPCOT with fellow Disney Parks Blog author Shawn Slater turned into our first date and, as they say, the rest is history. We’ve been married nearly 20 years and always loved visiting Leave a Legacy at the front of the park whenever we went to EPCOT.

Shifting gears back to the present, with the transformation of the EPCOT main entrance area, the original Legacy sculpture has been removed, but Leave A Legacy lives on in a beautiful new setting just outside the park. Shawn and I were thrilled to get a look at its new home this morning before the park opened and were even more excited to find the picture from our first date. Seeing Leave a Legacy again at EPCOT was incredibly special, and we’re so glad it’s part of the updated main entrance area – in a bright new color, too!



These newly designed panels are the first of many that will be installed outside the EPCOT touch points, featuring vibrant hues from the park’s new color palette. Along with the fresh look for Leave A Legacy, the beautiful fountain and gleaming pylons further illustrate the park’s transformation and the magic of possibility.

For anyone else who wants to search for a tile at the new location, guests can use their smart device to scan the QR code at the Leave a Legacy display. This opens up the tile finder search feature, which can provide the coordinates for a tile’s location. Guests can also visit the EPCOT guest Relations team for assistance.



Just as Shawn and I cherished visiting the original Leave a Legacy displays with our sons, these new panels will continue to celebrate the spirit of optimism. We go on!

C'est pas mal, ça dynamise la zone. Par contre cette nouvelle fontaine, bof.

Ah, j'aime bien perso. Cela fera un bon point photo à mon avis.

On a aussi eu droit à l'arrivée des nouveaux drapeaux, associés à chaque Land du parc.

Et je rajouterai que la séquence d'entrée (Main Entrance) d'Epcot vient également de changer sa BGM (musique) après plus de 15 ans de bons et loyaux services.



EDIT : Selon les derniers commentaires que j'ai pu voir, uniquement la nouvelle cour intérieur (après les tourniquets jusqu'à Spaceship Earth) utilise cette nouvelle BGM.

La Main Entrance BGM des années 2000 (avec la musique "Legacy" mixé aux musiques des attractions) est toujours en vigueur avant les tourniquets (bagcheck, gare du monorail, guichets...).

We are using color, materials and light in new ways with some unique EPCOT touches that connect back to this park’s storied past while looking to the future.

As you can see in this new artist concept rendering*, there’s a large mural of Mickey Mouse along one of the shop’s walls. We were inspired by Mickey as our subject for creativity – but this is Mickey like you’ve never seen him before. You’ll discover original homages to him throughout the space, including large, dynamic murals and new artist expressions that showcase the global, contemporary icon that Mickey has become for generations around the world. We are excited to feature this art program – completely original works that will live on in this space – as a testament to the park’s ability to inspire the dreamer in all of us.

Our goal is for Creations Shop to be more than a place to pick up a memento of your time at EPCOT – we want your every moment with us to be an experience worthy of the park’s vision and tradition. The products you’ll find here will extend Disney storytelling and allow you to bring that experience home with you, all while encouraging you to explore your own expressiveness and creativity.

Adjacent to the shop will be a revitalized Club Cool Hosted by Coca-Cola, which will also open this summer. This will celebrate Coca-Cola in a fresh new way, while keeping the fan-favorite experience that invites you to explore tasty drinks from around the world. This space will also have some new magic to bring the global experience of Coca-Cola to life for you.

Opening Creations Shop and Club Cool will be an important milestone in our ongoing transformation of the park. These fun and energetic locations will continue the reimagining of what will soon be a new neighborhood at the entrance and center of the park, called World Celebration. Late last year we unveiled a new fountain at the main entrance, followed this spring by new flags, lighting and music that further re-energize your entry into EPCOT.
