Disney vient d'annoncer à l'expo D23 la création de Fantasy Faire en lieu et place de Carnation Plaza Gardens.
Fantasy Faire représentera le square d'un village et permettra aux visiteurs de dancer et interagir avec Belle ou Rapunzel lors d'une Royal Ribbon Parade.
Il y aura également des Meet & Greet avec les Princes et Princesses Disney.



Today at the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs and Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis announced an exciting transformation poised to take place at Disneyland park.



The boundaries of Fantasyland are expanding with a brand new experience called Fantasy Faire. For this project, Carnations Plaza Gardens Stage is being reimagined into an enchanting village square that will immerse guests in the stories of their favorite princesses in exciting new ways.



Guests will travel through a village square surrounded by fairytale cottages and pavilions to the heart of the square – Tangled Tower, inspired by the film. The village square will come alive with activities and entertainment, including a Royal Ribbon Parade where guests can dance and interact with Belle or Rapunzel. Guests can visit the their favorite Disney royalty from such films as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Cinderella,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled.”

‪The Fantasy Faire Stage will be a new entertainment venue where the stories of Disney’s fairy tale heroes and heroines will be brought to life, letting guests become part of the story as well.

‪And at night, the Fantasy Faire Stage will come alive with the classic music and dance offerings that Disneyland park guests have loved for years.

Pff... On n'ira jamais là de toute façon (sauf les très rares personnes de ce forum qui peuvent y aller). Encore un projet pour Disneyland Resort et rien pour Disneyland Paris.

J'avoue que je ne visualise pas très bien où ça se trouvera dans le parc Disneyland ?

En venant de Main Street, USA, Carnation Plaza gardens se trouve sur la gauche avant d'arriver au Sleeping Beauty castle, direction Frontierland (à 10 ou 11h00 par rapport au hub).

Cette zone a ouvert le 18 août 1956 avec une scène où jouent depuis régulièrement différents bands (il y a toujours un live band très populaire le samedi soir, celui-ci devrait être déplacé à un nouvel endroit encore à définir).

A l'origine il y avait également des stands qui vendaient des glaces, snacks et autres boissons.

Il y a une action qui a débuté hier (Save Carnation Plaza Gardens) suite à l'annonce de la transformation prochaine de Carnation Plaza Gardens en Fantasy Faire , il est demandé d'écrire la lettre suivante à George Kalogridis (Président de Disneyland Resort) afin d'essayer de le faire changer d'avis :

I am writing regarding the reported planned demolition of Carnation Plaza Gardens. As a long-time passholder, I have enjoyed listening to the bands and dancing there for many years. Dancing at Carnation Plaza is the main reason I have an annual pass.

I have been told that the plan is to demolish Carnation Plaza Gardens and replace it with a "Princess Garden". While I understand the desire to offer a more visible and accessible site for "meet and greet" I think there are other places in the Park that would serve the same purpose.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Carnation Plaza has significant historical importance to the Park. Some of the late, great big band leaders who appeared there included Louis Armstrong, Artie Shaw and Tex Benecke. More practically, there are literally hundreds of pass holders who love to come there to listen and dance. There is a Facebook provided just to list the schedule of bands: Carnation Plaza Swing Band Schedule.

I also recognize that it may appear on some nights that the swing dancing event is not well attended. That is true, and is partly due to inclement weather and competing events, but is in large part due to the band performing that night. Observers will note that on nights when Stompy Jones is performing, the dance floor is packed until the last number and dancers consistently call for an encore. Nights when Tim Gill and the All Stars are performing are also well-attended. While they have their admirers, the majority of dancers do not like and often do not attend on nights when Doc Anello, SwingTown, the Side Street Swing Orchestra, and the All American College Band perform. There are many other local swing bands that would draw bigger crowds: Pete Jacob's Wartime Radio Reviews always drew a sizeable crowd when they were on the lineup. Dancers can make many other suggestions for consideration.

Mr. Kalogridis, I would like to plead that the plan to demolish Carnation Plaza Gardens be reconsidered. If in fact, the plan goes forward, please consider providing another venue for swing bands and dancing, although any other place would not have the same ambience and historical reference as Carnation Plaza.

Bah je vois pas pourquoi, ce projet a l'air sympathique et plutôt joli.
Mocheté Fatale, je ne vois pas pourquoi on n'irait jamais, j'y suis allé en 2009 et compte bien y retourner. On n'est plus dans les années '50, prends l'avion !

ça m'étonne pas que les américains sont contre ce projet. Carnation plaza est vraiment un repère historique et nostalgique de Disneyland et la Disney prend un risque de s'attaquer au noyeau des "anciens" fans de Disneyland ... ceux qui ont connu la parc avant la "toonatisation" de Disneyland .... j'attend pour voir si ce projet va pas tomber aux oublietes ou être déplacé car Carnation Plaza c'est comme mettre Phantom Manor à la place du bassin de Neptune a Versailles !

Je comprends, et je suis également très attaché à Disneyland mais ce n'est pas un musée ! Il faut bien le faire évoluer. Walt était le premier à le faire, de nombreuses choses ont disparus même pendant les 11 années de son vivant.

Tout à fait Dash!! Je suis d'autant plus favorable à ce projet qu'il reprend la fonction de Carnation Plaza Gardens: musiciens "live" et possibilté de dancer en soirée, comme c'est précisé par Disney Parks Blog:

Effectivement, au moins cet espace retrouvera un intérêt.

ça me rappelle la campagne pour sauver Mr Toad Wild's ride. Autant la version de Californie est sympa (quoi que c'est le moins bon des petits DR du parc), autant celle de Floride était vraiment ultra-cheap. Que des décors en carton pâte fluo, aucun véritable automate. C'était complètement dépassé et l'attraction Winnie qui le remplace est 100 fois supérieure. Mais pour les fans, non, pas touche.
C'est de l'intégrisme.

Je n'ai jamais dit que l'avion avait été inventé dans les années '50.
Par ailleurs, ce dont tu parles est un problème personnel, je ne vois pas en quoi il donne matière à critiquer l'évolution de Disneyland Resort.

Et pour tout Disney Fan il est intéressant de connaître l'évolution des autres parcs, pour comparer avec le nôtre à Paris ou tout simplement nous faire rêver. Et encore mieux mais pas accessible par tout le monde, l'envie d'aller visiter.

Je trouve que c'est une bonne idée de changer un peu l'endroit qui était un peu désert sauf lors des concerts. Pour les fans de Raiponce, en voyant le concept on sent qu'elle est mise à l'honneur (design architectural du film, la Kingdom Dance). Mais je trouve ça dommage que ce soit éloigné de Fantasyland, le chateau est le point d'entrée de Fantasyland et pourtant le monde de Raiponce va être situé à Central Plaza.

Tour à tour ils auront tous des relloking de Fantasyland, sauf nous, c'est assez triste !

Bah pour l'instant le nôtre n'est pas vraiment à plaindre, ceux qui sont vraiment dans l'urgence sont le Magic Kingdom de Floride et de Tokyo pour leurs tentes hideuses et manque d'âme dans certaines parties et celui d'Hong Kong pour le peu d'attractions.

Boh on peut pas dire que le notre ait grand chose à voir avec l'ambiance des classiques, contrairement a ce que semblent vouloir proposer les nouveaux morceaux du MK ou du DLR, enfin c'est un autre sujet j'imagine.

Pour comparaison, en haut, notre Fantasyland, à Paris ; en bas, leur Fantasyland, à Hong Kong.
On n'a pas à se plaindre, en effet !
