Raiponce [Walt Disney - 2010] - Box-office

Il ne dépassera pas le million cette semaine... surtout s'il continue à neiger...

A ceci près que pour la première journée de PATF, il y avait dedans toute les avants premières qui avaient eu lieu depuis Décembre 2009 (alors que le film est sortie 1 mois 1/2 plus tard en national).
Et Volt, c'était pendant les vacances de Février (normal qu'il fasse plus qu'un film sortant en période scolaire).

Pour Raiponce, les avant-premières ne sont pas comptabilisées ? Car si oui, c'est une véritable catastrophe...

Ce que je veux dire, c'est qu'il y a eu beaucoup moins d'AP de Raiponce que pour La Princesse et la Grenouille.

Faut pas oublier aussi que Raiponce est en 3D, donc avec un surcoût de projection qui peut refroidir de prime abord, lorsque l'on a aucun écho sur le film.

Les AP ne sont pas prit en compte pour le premier jour !
Par contre il faut avouer que le mauvais temps y est pour quelque chose quand même...

Non, il y a eu plein d'avant premier. Rien qu'au Grand Rex il est à 70 000 entrées... Mais d'après ce que je sais les avant-premières sont comptabilisées avec la première semaine pas la première journée...

en principe les avants premières du dimanche matin sont comptabilisés dans le chiffre de la première semaine
c'est celle du lundi et mardi soir qui le sont lors du premier jour .... et encore pas toujours
sinon la neige a du etre fatal sur toute la région lyonnaise en tout cas pour son premier jour !
mais je pense qu'on peut avoir une surprise pour le score première semaine !!

Le film terminera au pire à 2 millions d'entrées et au moins à plus de 3 millions(avec les vacances de Noël), il faudrait refaire une campagne de pub pour relancer la machine.

Box office preview: 'Tangled' to seize the reins from 'Deathly Hallows'

The week after Thanksgiving is known for box-office declines comparable to a post-cupcake sugar crash, so it’s going to be pretty dead out there, folks. Only one new movie — the Korean/English-language/filmed in New Zealand/Western/marital-arts epic The Warrior’s Way – is being released wide, while my pick for one of the most brilliantly gutsy movies of the year, Black Swan, is being unveiled in select cities. The box office will likely be dominated by Thanksgiving weekend’s main two courses: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 and Tangled. However, the latter should actually overtake Deathly Hallows this weekend, for reasons I’ll explain right now. My predictions:

1. Tangled: $24.5 million

Disney’s fairy-tale musical surprised the entire industry by coming within $300,000 of beating Deathly Hallows last holiday weekend. While family films have historically tumbled the week after Thanksgiving, Tangled has been blessed with extraordinary word-of-mouth. CinemaScore audiences gave the animated movie an “A+” grade, the first time a film’s earned that grade since last year’s The Blind Side. In fact, The Blind Side is a perfect comparison point for Tangled. Last year, The Blind Side dropped 50 percent during the week after Thanksgiving — the smallest slip of any wide release — and overtook The Twilight Saga: New Moon to wind up as No. 1 for the first time. Expect a nearly identical drop for Tangled, giving it a $24.5 million weekend and a cumulative tally of nearly $100 million by Sunday night.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1: $18 million

Potter, on the other hand, better hold on tight to his Firebolt broomstick, as Deathly Hallows will likely nosedive at least 60 percent this weekend. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the last Potter film to be released in November, fell 64 percent the week after Thanksgiving. And The Twilight Saga: New Moon also dropped 64 percent during this frame last year. There’s no reason to expect a different result for Deathly Hallows. An $18 million weekend will bring the fantasy film’s total gross to $245 million.

3. Megamind: $6 million

Despite intense competition from Tangled and Deathly Hallows, the DreamWorks Animation comedy has so far displayed superhuman stamina, becoming the movie of choice for boys who are a) too young for Deathly Hallows, and b) too “manly” for Tangled. A drop of 52 percent will put it neck and neck with Unstoppable, but I give Megamind the edge.

4. Unstoppable: $6 million

Like Megamind, this PG-13 runaway-train thriller, starring Denzel Washington, has been decelerating at an impressively gradual speed. During Thanksgiving weekend, the movie fell only 12 percent. The Warrior’s War may cut into its testosterone-fueled audience a bit, but Unstoppable should continue to hold up fairly well. Figure a decline of just under 50 percent.

5. The Warrior’s Way: $5.5 million

The martial arts-Western hybrid, featuring an eclectic cast including South Korean star Jang Dong-gun, Kate Bosworth, and Geoffrey Rush, is opening at 1,622 theaters. The $42 million film should attract hard-core martial arts fans, but everyone else will probably be turned off by the project’s sheer strangeness. Furthermore, the movie isn’t being screened for critics, and production finished way back in early 2008. It’s taken quite a long time for The Warrior’s Way to reach theaters, and whether it’s warranted or not, the R-rated flick will likely vanish in a flash.

6. Burlesque: $5 million

Those who saw Burlesque really liked it — the movie earned an “A-” from CinemaScore audiences. But I’m betting those who went to see the $55 million Cher-Christina Aguilera musical knew exactly what they were getting themselves into, and were going to leave the theater in a cheerful mood no matter what. For comparison’s sake, Rent debuted on Thanksgiving weekend five years ago and then tangoed down a 56 percent hill the following week. Although my broker keeps telling me that past performance doesn’t guarantee future results, in this instance, I’m betting on a similar dive for Burlesque.

In limited release, Darren Aronofsky’s ballet-horror film Black Swan, starring the sure-to-be-nominated-for-an-Oscar Natalie Portman, opens at 18 theaters. The exhilaratingly nutso movie demands to be seen on the big screen, so seek it out if you can. Also, the oft-delayed Jim Carrey romantic comedy I Love You, Phillip Morris starts its journey at six locations.

Seven-Day Summary: 'Potter' Edges Out 'Tangled'


Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 plummeted in its second week but still held off formidable competition from Tangled. Burlesque, Love and Other Drugs and Faster also had their first full weeks, though none made much of an impression. Overall box office was down around four percent from last year, when The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Blind Side led the way.

Deathly Hallows Part 1 fell 66 percent to $57.5 million, which was the sharpest decline ever for a Harry Potter movie. That's significantly higher than Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire's 57 percent second week drop, which was the last Potter movie to open the weekend before Thanksgiving. With a $227.5 million total, Deathly Hallows Part 1 is still pacing ahead of Goblet of Fire, though it's slightly behind Half-Blood Prince's $229.4 million 14-day tally.

While it settled for second place, Tangled scored a huge $55 million at 3,603 locations. That brought its nine-day total to just shy of $75 million, which was way up from Disney's similarly-themed Enchanted ($53.6 million). It now seems poised to finish in first place this weekend, which is quite a feat for a non-Pixar Disney animated movie.

Thanks to decent showings Monday through Thursday, Burlesque moved past Megamind in to third place for the seven-day period with $15.5 million. Its $20.9 million total was slightly ahead of Rent's $19.3 million through the same point.

Megamind dipped 42 percent to $14 million for a four-week total of $131.7 million. While it did pass Bee Movie's $126.6 million total, it's unlikely that Megamind will move in to the upper echelon of DreamWorks Animation movies.

Unstoppable eased 32 percent, adding $13.8 million to bring its total to $62.8 million. It's on track to eclipse the final tally of Tony Scott and Denzel Washington's last train-related action movie, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, by the end of the weekend.

Love and Other Drugs and Faster were unable to crack the Top Five this week. Love and Other Drugs grossed $12.8 million for a nine-day total of $16.9 million, while Faster had a slow week, making $10.8 million for a total of $14.3 million.

En tous cas, aux US le film chute de 79% ce vendredi, et le week end est estimé a 16,5 millions. Une dégringolade inattendue au vu du démarrage du film et de l'avis des spectateurs...

Cumul 90 millions, le film pourrait il finir en dessous d'Enchanted? En tout cas c'est mort pour les 200 millions.

Cela a remonté ce vendredi. Il est passé à -74%... pour 5.1 millions de $

Enchanted en était à 70M après son 2ème WE, ici avec Raiponce et ses 90M annoncés on reste quand même largement au dessus.

La question est : va-t-il avoir les moyens de dépasser Megamind ? Pas sur...

Mais oui : Megamind a certes eu une première semaine du niveau de Raiponce, mais dès la troisième semaine, il s'est effondré.
Raiponce vient de passer devant Harry Potter, ce vendredi, et il sera en tête du box office cette semaine : le score de Il etait une fois sera très vite catapulté.
Surtout, les critiques pour Narnia 3 sont calamiteuses : donc il n'y aura pas de réelle concurrence pour Disney... en dehors de Tron. En somme, Raiponce va sûrement rester dans le top 5 jusqu'à la fin décembre, et les 150 M sont assurés.

Ce sera sûrement le plus gros succès pour un Disney sorti en novembre, depuis bien longtemps ! (Bon d'accord, pas en terme d'entrées ou de recettes ajustées, mais ce sera nettement mieux que La Princesse et la Grenouille)

On était malheureusement en droit de s'attendre a mieux au vu du démarrage du film, et des critiques... 200 millions aurait été excellent.

C'est vrai que ces chiffres sont, avouons-le, décevant... avec un démarrage à 48,7 M$, on aurait pu s'attendre à un 25M$ minimum ce WE... mais on aura peut-être une surprise demain soir..........peut être...

PS : le budget du film est estimé à 260 millions de dollars par BO Mojo !! ? Wouaah , ca va être très difficile de le rentabilisé là ! ....

Tangled rid itself of any knots as it climbed to the top of the box office on Friday, grossing $5.1 million, according to early estimates. That’s a 74 percent drop from last Friday, which, mind you, was an enormous day for moviegoing. The PG animated musical should receive a decent bump on Saturday, as most family films do, and finish the weekend with about $21 million.

In second place, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 descended 77 percent for $4.8 million on Friday. It’s on track for an $18 million weekend, which would bring its cumulative gross to $245 million. The rest of the top five consisted of leftovers. The Cher-Christina Aguilera musical Burlesque fell 56 percent for $2 million, while right on its heels was the R-rated romantic comedy Love and Other Drugs, which slipped only 48 percent for $2 million as well. (Burlesque is estimated to have earned $25,000 more than Love and Other Drugs on Friday). And in fifth place was the Denzel Washington action thriller Unstoppable, which skidded 59 percent for $1.9 million.

The weekend’s only new wide release, the martial-arts Western The Warrior’s Way, might as well start selecting its coffin. The R-rated film debuted in ninth place with $1.1 million. In limited release, however, things were much rosier. Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman, opened in 18 theaters and collected $426,000 for a stupendous per-location average of $23,667. The R-rated ballet-horror film could conclude the weekend with about $1.5 million, and the resulting $83,000 per-location average would be the second largest ever for a film playing in at least 10 theaters. (Only last year’s Precious, which debuted in 18 theaters and registered a $104,025 per-location average, ranks higher). 260 millions, c'est pas une paille! Avec ça, on produit Titanic By Cameron avec 4 heures de métrage... et toute la filmographie du Studio Ghibli en doublant la paie des artistes sur toutes les productions pré-Mononoké!!!

Financièrement, c'est un plan foireux pire que Kuzco, voire Taram, ce film. Il aurait sûrement coûté 2 fois moins cher en 2D, et c'est ce qu'avait du comprendre John Lasseter en essayant de convaincre Glen Keane de revenir à la technique trad...
Umh, faut pas chercher plus loin la Mort de la Reine des Neiges, Raiponce a bouffé tout le budget...

Et je pense qu'a un moment, il faudra bien que WDAS délocalise sa production en Corée ou au Japon pour éviter des budgets aussi déraisonnables pour de l'animation très grand public; n'est pas le Cameron d'Avatar qui veut...

Oui mais 260 millions de dollar comprend toute la pre-production ainsi que toutes les avancés technologique pour réaliser le film tel que les logicielle des cheveux ou l'animation des personnages. La production en elle-même a couté moins cher surtout qu'elle a été rapide (18 mois). Après ce qui a été fait en tant que pre-production est de l'investissement qui servira pour les autres productions et donc qui peut tout à fait s'étaler dans le temps...
