Tout à fait d'accord... C'est un peu mieux qu'avant mais ils auraient pu mettre beaucoup plus de théma...

C'est vrai j'ai vu la vidéo sur le facebook de DCP, heu c'est clairement à ch*** en effet.. L'attraction se finis alors qu'on a l'impression qu'elle vient juste de commencer .. Et pour la thématisation, il y a du mieu mais bon c'est pas encore sa quoi.. Mais bon comme la dit Panpan faut de tous pour completer l'offre..

Quel intérêt pour une telle attraction à mettre plus de théma?! Clairement, la transformation de Mulholland Madness en Goofy's Sky School est une solution peu chère et temporaire. En attendant une véritable attraction Disney à cet emplacement, c'est un relooking plutôt réussi!

Personnellement, je trouve cela très chaleureux, mais bien loin de ce qu'Imgineering est capable de faire.

Quand je regarde cette photo comparé à (par exemple) la décoration riche et détaillée du Colonel Hati's Pizza Outpost à DLP, les nouveaux resto de DCA font plutôt pale figure je trouve. Et ils ont 20 ans d'écart!

Je pense que le thème se prête tout simplement moins à la rêverie que le Colonel Hati. Ceci dit je trouve également ces points de restauration très réussis.

Les thèmes ne sont absolument pas les mêmes!! Compare ce qui est comparable (Paradise Garden peut être comparé avec Main Street USA à la rigueur)...
Par contre, faute de goût totale pour les toilettes dont l'intérieur n'a pas changé!!

There's probably only one real downside to the entire Paradise Garden project, and that would be the restrooms of the area. It's a minor issue, to be sure, but an obvious one when you see it. The exterior of the restroom facility has been properly re-themed, but once you step inside the old Route 66 theme featuring tile cacti and a stretch of highway is still there. It's a tacky remnant of the old theme for this area, and something we hope will be fixed in the future.




Next to the lavish new Paradise Garden dining area, the re-themed Goofy's Sky School roller coaster is now officially open for business.

PACIFIC WHARF

Over at Pacific Wharf, a new candy/treat window has opened next to Cocina Cucamonga. This window previously sold candy-decorated fortune cookies when this building housed the Lucky Fortune Cookery, which has since moved. In recent years, it has been mostly un-used, except as prep area for California Food and Wine Festival presentations.


The new candy and cookie window, called Dulce Aventura (Sweet Adventure), will serve as the primary location to buy these sorts of items when the Sunshine Plaza candy shop closes later this year for Buena Vista Street construction.

Over at Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, a selection of flatbread pizzas, freshly-prepared pastas and entree salads are served up in a large cafeteria-style setting. The restaurant, formerly known as Pizza Oom Mow Mow, no longer offers indoor seating space and the cafeteria set-up similar to Disneyland's Plaza Inn now occupies the entire space.

Moi j'aime bien ce nouveau Paradise Pier (à l'exception du bidule Goofy qui reste immonde). Ca colle parfaitement au thème "boardwalk idéalisé". Ce n'était pas non plus la peine d'en faire plus, on nage rarement dans le luxe sur les piers. Ceux qui ont visité Blackpool savent de quoi je parle.

Pour le coup je félicité les équipe de WDI. Ce parc commence vraiment à valoir le détour.

Je trouve ce nouveau coin restauration réussi, la théma est "rafraîchissante" avec ses couleurs claires et ses nombreux arbres. Seul Goofy's Sky School fait tâche, heureusement que tout est bleu ciel, ça se fond un peu dans le décor...

Je n'avais pas lu la légende qui disait que les WC étaient déjà là avant, c'est pour ça que je ne comprenais pas pourquoi l'intérieur adopté un thème Route 66... En effet, faute de gout, ils auraient au moins pu repeindre les carreaux avec une couleur neutre.

J'ai cité le Colonel Hahti à titre d'exemple, j'aurais très bien pu en choisir un autre.
Je voulais comparer le soin apporté au détail. Si la comparaison se prete effectivement mieux avec Main Street, à l'échelle du parc (DCA) je n'ai pas le sentiment qu'il y ait un seul restaurant qui puisse rivaliser avec ceux de DLP (datant de l'ouverture) par exemple. Sur le plan du détail et de la richesse des décors encore une fois.

Hors, dans le cadre d'un tel chantier, on aurait pu s'attendre à au moins un resto vraiment éblouissant dans son concept. Pour moi, ce n'est pas encore le cas ici, même si je reconnais que c'est très soigné.

Peut être que le resto du Carthay Circle Theater rivalisera avec le Walt's, le Colonel Hahti, le Lucky Nugget ou le Blue Lagoon (pour ne citer qu'eux). Bon, ça en fera toujours un. Un seul resto au concept et à la thema véritablement immersive. Pour tout un parc fraîchement rénové.

Goofy's Sky School de nuit : toujours aussi pauvre mais ça permet au moins d'avoir une très belle vue sur Paradise Pier !

BUENA VISTA STREET

Half of Ticket Booth #8 in the Main Entrance Plaza, between La Brea Bakery and California Adventure's main entrance, has now become dedicated Guest Relations windows. With the old Guest Relations windows next to the park's main entrance closed and the in-park Guest Relations lobby closing soon for Buena Vista Street construction, the new service at Ticket Booth #8 will help over the next year as construction continues.




Meanwhile, the new Pan-Pacific Auditorium-inspired main entrance gates are nearing completion. Last week flags were added and the new park marquee installed.







PARADISE GARDEN DINING AREA

The excellent new Paradise Garden dining area is open for business, but the project is still adding finishing touches that it was unable to complete before barely making its July 1st opening deadline.


Plenty of additional popcorn lights were installed throughout the Garden last week, bringing even more nighttime appeal to the area.


Still, not all of the additional decorative lighting was functional over the weekend and work crews will continue to finish the work this week.


The former P.T. Flea Market pin store, which has been converted into dining space is still not open to guests.

57 and counting...

Aside from that bit of corporate drama out of Florida, Disneyland is now enjoying its 57th summer under the sun (if you count the abbreviated summer season of ’55 that began late on July 17th). It’s been over a week since the Paradise Garden restaurant complex opened, but WDI and the electrical contractors are still struggling to get the thousands of decorative popcorn lights installed and wired correctly. The complex opened on July 1st with only about 75% of the lights installed, and less than half of them able to be turned on. They really did pour on the details here, and it’s worth the wait to get it all done, since this corner of restaurants was budgeted as a long-term investment for the park that won’t be going anywhere for decades. The expansion pad that would eventually place another attraction on the Goofy’s Sky School site extends to the east up to the Little Mermaid building, but it stops roughly at the patio of Paradise Garden and so the restaurant facility was given the full Imagineering treatment of detailing and extras.

If things go well out at the new main entrance turnstiles, those will be opened this weekend, with a new access route into the park behind Soarin’ opening up shortly thereafter. We had told you in the last update of the growing nervousness in WDI and TDA of the ability to get all of Buena Vista Street completed late next June, so the Buena Vista Street team is chomping at the bit to get access to the rest of DCA’s entry complex.
The Carthay Circle Theater building (shown above) has the luxury of already being behind walls and is on schedule, luckily, and TDA is still leaning towards the plan to create a second Club 33 style membership club for Anaheim for this facility. The plan now is to have two separate cocktail lounges on the first level, with the entire second level dedicated to a swanky and ultra-themed dining room. The club concept would allow members-only access to one of the first floor lounges and the upstairs dining room. The second lounge downstairs would be opened up to anyone, but would hopefully feed off the cachet of being associated with the Carthay Circle Club, its working title thus far.

There’s two competing schools of thought on launching the Carthay Circle Club concept; one faction in TDA looks at the long standby list of people willing to shell out big bucks to join Club 33 and thinks it’s a slam dunk, and the other faction realizes a similar club in DCA won’t mean much because alcohol is available all over that park and the Walt-era mystique of Club 33 will be nearly impossible to recreate on the former site of Pressler’s giant hubcap. The risk is that DCA already tried two upscale dining experiences and failed with the Vineyard Room and Avalon Cove.

It might be safer to try and skim off some of the Club 33 waiting list and then spend the next 20 years sucking up to the new members of the Carthay Circle Club until DCA’s own mystique is formed. Maybe they could hold an annual springtime tug-o-war competition in the Esplanade between Club 33 members and Carthay Circle Club members? TDA will have to make a final decision soon on whether to pull the trigger on DCA’s membership club, and the D23 Expo is going to be the perfect venue to launch it if they do go for it.

Voilà. la nouvelle entrée de DCA est terminée et comme je m'y attendais... je n'aime pas. Franchement, je sais que ce qu'ils vont construire derrière (Buena Vista Street) sera superbe, mais cette entrée, comment dire, est tout sauf grandiose et fait preuve d'un manque d'imagination incroyable. Elle ne donne en rien envie d'entrer dans le parc et en plus les lettres sont minuscules. Vraiment dommage...

La nouvelle entrée de DCA est maintenant ouverte et active .
